My 26 weeks of INCIST program has come to an end.
Time has passed before I even knew it, and it¡¯s already time for me to go back to my country.
At first, I really wasn¡¯t sure what my ability was, and what I could achieve throughout the program. Having said that, the INCIST program has helped me discover the hidden potential and has guided me to learn what I was capable of doing.
Throughout the first 2 months of training in school, I¡¯ve learned a number of things; Writing resumes and cover letters, interview skills, ways to search for jobs, North American business culture/trends, work place expressions, and so much more. In addition, the presentations we had to do every Friday helped me overcome the stage fright, and improve my speaking and communication skills.
What I like most about the program is that they are very strict on the ¡°English -only¡± policy. It was a big challenge for me to stick to the policy, and so many times I had to fight the temptation to speak Korean! However, my classmates and I really pulled it off and now I can feel our English have improved so much.
I believe my 26 weeks of internship program was a very successful one and I am very proud of myself. I really didn¡¯t know I could do such a good job! The program definitely helped me to gain faith in myself.
I am glad I got the opportunity to gain such a great experience here in Vancouver. I am sure the experience I had and the knowledge I gained here in the INCIST program will help me tremendously with my future career back in Korea.
